Diesel injector fuel return rail: Removal - Refitting

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect:
-the fuel temperature sensor connector (10) ,
-the diesel fuel return pipe from the diesel injector
fuel return rail (11) .
a Fit a suitable blanking plug to:
-the diesel fuel return pipe opening,
-the opening of the diesel injector fuel return rail.
a Disconnect the diesel injector fuel return rail from the
high pressure pump (12) .
a Fit a suitable blanking plug to:
- the opening of the diesel injector fuel return rail,
- the high pressure pump opening.
First step for removing the fuel return rail unions
from the diesel injectors
a
a Using a fine, flat screwdriver, push the lower sec-
tions of the diesel injector fuel return rail unions (13)
towards the rocker cover to unlock them and posi-
tion them fully up against the rocker cover.

WARNING
Ensure that the clip is not completely removed
from its housing, otherwise it may be damaged
when the diesel return union is removed.
In the case where a clip has been completely
removed from its housing, remove the injector
concerned and replace the clip with a new clip
(see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injector:
Removal - Refitting, page 13B-136) .
