1. Close RI Viewer soware (where used).
2. Switch o at rear.
1. Move the Fine (red) and Coarse (blue striped) Levers to a vercal
posion. Rotate the Fine Control Lever to the centre of the movement
as indicated on the display.
2. Take an empty and clean Petri dish (set-up dish), and lightly scratch a
cross in its centre, on the upper surface. This must be the same type
of Petri dish as used clinically.
3. Select a low magnicaon objecve. Place the Petri dish on the stage
and use the microscope focus control to focus on the cross. Do not
adjust the microscope focus again and do not remove the Petri dish
unl pipee set-up is complete.
4. Select the set-up objecve (4x with spacer).
5. Li the Set-up Levers (yellow striped) to the raised posion. Insert
holding and injecon pipees into the Micropipee Holders (MPH)
and clip the MPHs into the toolholders (PL3).
6. Adjust the angle of each pipee, if required, by turning the Pipee
Angle Control.
7. Look into the eyepieces and bring the p of each pipee to the
centre of the eld of view by using the Axial Drive Control (black). If
the p is out of focus, rotate the Fine Control Lever slightly (not the
microscope focus) to bring it into focus.
8. Align the foot of the pipee by turning the rotator on the end of
the MPH. It is horizontal when the pipee appears straight and
horizontal in the eyepieces.
9. Select the low magnicaon objecve without spacer. The scratch
on the Petri dish should sll be in focus.
10. Remove the set-up dish and replace with your clinical dish. Lower the
Set-up Levers fully. The pipee will come into view slightly above the
Petri dish surface. Small height adjustments can be made by rotang
the Fine Control Lever. If the pipees are consistently too high or too
low then carry out the inial pipee set-up procedure.
