4. When the main switch is turned off.
5. When the "Dis" (the flash discharge) key in service tool [5-04] "I/O test mode" is pressed.
NOTE
When the above two conditions happen, the flash power is discharged by the discharge circuit built-in
the flash power supply unit. In this case, it takes approximately 1 minute to complete discharging.
CAUTION
Even in the copy stand-by condition, if the flash power is manually charged using the "Charge"
key in service tool [5-04] "I/O test mode" or the charge key (blue push switch ) installed in the
flash power supply unit, be sure to discharge it by turning off the main switch or using the I/O
test mode before accessing the xenon lamp.
Lamp cooling mechanism
With exposure, the tube wall temperature of the xenon
lamp becomes very high, greatly affecting lamp life.
When the main switch is turned ON, turn ON the flash
blower and the exposure cooling fan ventilate the five
positions on the glass surface of the xenon lamp.
A thermofuse (99
o
C) is provided on the upper reflector
to guard against high temperature.
