High voltage SC10 Charge leak Both the charge corona and grid
outputs are stopped when the charge
output leak is detected. In this case,
blank image copies may be made
before the leak is detected.
When the grid output leak is detected,
only the grid output is stopped. In this
case, black solid copies may be made.
Dirt on corona wire, endblock,
terminal, or casing contaminated by
toner, paper powder, cleaning brush
fiber, antistatic brush fiber, etc.
When this condition is detected for the
first time, the paper misfeed indicator
(location A) is indicated (stays ON)
instead of the error reset display. (In
case of a real paper jam, the indicator
blinks, but it does not stay ON.) This is
not recorded as a paper misfeed in
the logging data, but is recorded as an
SC in the service tool [3-07] screen.
After that, an Error reset is indicated if
the problem occurs more two times
(three times total) in 100 continuous
copies.
SC11 Transfer leak The transfer corona output is stopped.
In this case, blank or faint image
copies may be made before the leak
is detected.
SC12 Separation leak The separation corona output stopped.
SC13 PCC leak The PCC output stopped. In this case,
a dirty background image due to
cleaning failure may be appears on
copies before the leak is detected.
SC17 Life end of xenon lamp The flash output exceeds 28 steps
(maximum output level for the full size
copy mode). This can be seen on the
service tool [4-01] screen.
Worn xenon lamp. Otherwise,
incorrect position of the xenon lamp or
dirty mirrors, lens, reflectors, or
black-and-white pattern on the back of
the original scale, Poor cooling for the
xenon lamp and flash power supply
unit may also cause this symptom.
Service call indication appears for this
status code.
From when the flash output reaches
28 steps, the message advising to
replace the xenon lamp appears on
the guidance display. The message
shows that 40,000 copies left can be
made. After that, the number that can
be made copies is changed and is
displayed every 10,000 copies. After
the message is displayed the first
time, if 50,000 copies are made, SC
#17 is displayed.
To clear the message, the flash output
must be lowered under 20 steps.
Then, carry out 50 or more flashes
free run in service tool [4-01].
