2.6.2 Transfer and separation mechanism
The transfer and separation corona unit is on the
transport unit.
The transfer entrance guide mylar at the transfer corona
inlet holds the paper against the photoconductor to
eliminate transfer blurring of the leading and trailing
edges of the copy.
Paper separates due to paper rigidity after the negative
charge is removed from the paper by the separation
corona. The OPC belt turns at a sharp angle and this
helps the paper to separate from the photoconductor.
The transfer is output at a constant current and
separation is output at a constant voltage from the
transfer/separation power pack.
Transfer output:
DC (--)140 ±2µA. [(--)5.7KV]
Separation output:
AC200 ±5µA, DC(+)25 ±5µA. [AC6.3KV, DC(+)0.8KV]
2.6.3 Transport belt drive mechanism
The transport belts are driven by the main motor through
the vertical transport drive (see chart).
