2.7.5 Drive mechanism
The main motor rotates the cleaning drive unit via
pulleys and timing belts. The drive is transmitted to the
cleaning roller. The scavenging roller and toner
collecting coil is turned by the gears on the front of the
unit.
2.7.6 Cleaning coil protection
When the friction drive disk is turned by the friction roller
properly, the sensing disk connected with the friction
drive disk turns the cleaning coil sensor on and off at a
certain interval. This means that the toner collecting coil
is smoothly turning and sending used toner to the toner
cartridge.
When the collecting tube is clogged with toner, the
friction drive disk begins to slip with the friction roller.
This causes ON/OFF timing lags.
If the ON/OFF condition is 17 times or less for 5
seconds, and this condition continues for 15 seconds,
the toner collection error (SC20) lights.
