2.17.1 Main construction

Construction
Finisher Basic operation The finisher is devided into two main parts. One
is the inverter and the other is the finisher.
Inverter juction gate operation The inverter junction gate guides copies to the
inverter tray.
Inverter stopper operation The stopper plate repeats up and down to
invert copies.
Paper delivery switching The finisher junction gate is switched to send
copies to the shift tray or jogger tray for stapling.
Shift tray up/down mechanism The shift tray moves up and down to maintain
the proper paper delivery.
Shift tray side to side shift mechanism The shift tray moves side to side to stagger and
separate sets of copies.
Staple unit paper positioning Copies are properly squared in the jogger unit
by the jogger fences, brush rollers, and
positioning rollor.
Jogger movement The jogger fences move according to the copy
paper size.
Stapler The stapler staples each set of copies in the
jogger unit.
Stapler side to side movement The stapler moves side to side to allow for three
kinds of the staple position on copies.
Feed-out to shift tray To feed out the stapled copy set smoothly, the
exit rollers are opened.
