5.5.2 DETAILED SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE
In addition to the self-diagnostic test initiated every time the main machine is
powered on, you can set the machine in a more detailed diagnostic mode manually
in order to test other components or conditions that are not tested during self-
diagnosis after power on.
The following device is required in order to put the printer in the detailed self-
diagnosis mode.

Follow this procedure to execute detailed self-diagnosis.
1. Switch off the printer.
2. Press and hold down the !(On line) and #(Enter) buttons together, then switch
on the printer.
3. Release the buttons when you see:
DIAGNOSE
0100
4. The number will change automatically as the self-diagnostic test runs. After
about 30 seconds, the initial display returns and a self-diagnostic report prints.
A report like the one below is printed every time a detailed self-diagnostic test
is executed, whether errors were detected or not.
