Basic Operation
Compositing Using a Self Key (Luminance Key/Chroma Key)
This makes a portion of the video transparent and composites it onto a background video.

“4:2:2 Process M/E Mode and Composition (p. 12).
5 By default, the setting in eect is to extract green (chroma key). You can use the editing screen for KEY (p. 44) to select a dierent color.
Making the Settings for Key Composition
1. Follow the procedure in “Selecting the Video Sources for Composition” (p. 21) to assign the video sources.
2. At the COMPOSITION screen, tap <EDIT> for the composition where you want to make the settings for key composition,
displaying the “EDIT Screen”(p. 44).

If the mode switch is set to <PinP>,
tap <PinP> to change to the key setup
mode.
ENABLE/DISABLE switch

This switches between enabling and
disabling key composition.
Sampling point
3. Make the settings for values such as the degree of extraction for the video to overlay in the foreground and the type of key
composition.
Sampling point
This extracts the color at the location where the sampling point is placed when you tap <CHROMA SAMPLING>.
You move the sampling point by tapping the desired location on the EDIT screen.
LEVEL This sets the amount of extraction.
GAIN This sets the amount of edge blur.
<CHROMA SAMPLING>
Tapping this extracts the color at the location where the sampling point is placed.
Using TYPE” at the KEY screen to select “MANUAL lets you perform chroma-key composition using the extracted color.
<EDIT>
Tapping this displays the editing screen for KEY. Here you specify the type of key composition (luminance key, chroma key, etc.) and
make advanced settings for key composition.
4. Make the ENABLE/DISABLE switch light up, enabling key composition.
Each tap of the ENABLE/DISABLE switch switches between enabling key composition (lighted) and disabling key composition (dark).
* You can enable both PinP and key composition.
5. When you nish making the settings for key composition, exit the EDIT screen to return to the COMPOSITION screen.
