Belt Tension Adjustment
Belt Tension settings for the Z-Axis motor and the spindle drive motor are critical and must be set
properly for best performance and to avoid potential damage.
Belt Tension Specications are as follows:
Z-Axis motor belt tension, 5 lbs of tension should produce 1/2” of belt deection.
Spindle drive motor belt tension, 3 lbs of tension should produce 1/4” of belt deection.
Be sure that power is turned off before adjusting belt tension.
Adjustment on both motors is done by loosening the bolts that hold the motor in place and then tightening
or loosening the belt tension adjusting bolts until the specication for that particular belt is reached.
Tighten motor hold down bolts after adjustment is completed.
