Operation During Break-In
Period
NOTICE
Scrupulously follow the
instructions of this section. Failure
to do so may reduce the engines life
and/or performance.
A break-in period of 10 operating hours
is required before running the water-
craft at sustained full throttle.
During this period, maximum throttle
should not exceed 1/2 to 3/4 opening.
However, brief full acceleration and
speed variations contribute to a good
break-in.
NOTICE
Continued wide open
throttle accelerations, prolonged
cruising speeds and engine over-
heating are detrimental during the
break-in period.
NOTE: 215 and 260 engines: Dur-
ing the first 5 hours of operation, the
engine management limits the engine
maximum speed forengineprotection.
The engine performance will progres-
sively increase during this period.
