The behavior of the inverter which forms the basis of PROFINET operation, the so-
called unit profile, is independent of any particular fieldbus and is therefore a uniform
feature. This allows the user to develop fieldbus-independent drive applications. This
makes it much easier to change to other bus systems, such as DeviceNet (option DFD).
