Radiation exposure to person-
nel

During the procedure the physician is in the scan room and
close to the exposed scan plane. Special care should be taken to
avoid excessive and unnecessary radiation exposure.

Protection against primary
x-ray exposure
A. 2
Direct exposure to the x-ray beam should be avoided. Any body
parts in the scan plane may, in the worst case, receive approxi-
mately the accumulated dose as shown on the CTDI display.

Protection against stray radia-
tion
A. 2
The x-ray beam is limited to the imaged scan volume, but a sig-
nificant portion of the x-rays is scattered and distributed in the
scan room (stray radiation). The measured dose distribution in
the scan room is shown on diagrams.(→ Page A.2-22 Radia-
tion protection)

Users should wear protective clothing to reduce exposure.
