Jumpers
JWl = Zero-ohm resistor. OUT if this is a backup amplifier. Otherwise, IN.
Jl or J2 = Jl if this amplifier has its own backup amplifier; J2 if this and other amplifiers share a backup amplifier.
NOTE:
If amplifiers share a backup, the amplifier electrically farthest from the Audio Controller Board has highest
priority; the amplifier electrically closest to the Audio Controller Board has lowest priority.
l
The backup amplifier lacks priority, irrespective of its electrical position.
J3 or J4 = J4 if audio return supervision (supervision between the amplifier and the signal card) is used. Otherwise,
J3.
J5 or J6 = J5 if the IOO-Watt Amplifier is electrically farthest from the Audio Controller Board. Otherwise, J6.
J7 thru J15 = Used to configure the amplifier for music input or Style Z operation (see TBI)
Connectors and Connector Pins
PI, P2, P3 and P8 = Do not exist.
P4 = 6-pin Backup Audio Input connector. Used when a backup amplifier is involved.
l
P4-1 thru P4-3 connect via 733-579 harness to P9 of the backup amplifier, or to Pins P4-4 thru P4-6 of the next
higher priority amplifier.
l
P4-4 thru P4-6 connect via 733-579 harness to P4-1 thru P4-3 on the next lower priority amplifier, or to PlO on the
backup amplifier (if backup amplifier supervision is used).
NOTE:
For priorities, see note following Jumpers, Jl or J2 above.
P4-1 and P4-4 = + Backup Audio.
P4-2 and P4-5 = - Backup Audio.
P4-3 and P4-6 = SHIELD.
P5 and P7 = 1 O-pin Amplifier Status and Control Connectors. P5 connects via 733-582 harness to P7 on the next
higher priority amplifier or, if this is the highest priority amplifier, to P7 on the backup amplifier (if applicable).
P7 connects to P5 on the next lower priority amplifier or, if this is the lowest priority amplifier, to PIO, PI1 or
P12 on the Audio Controller Board.
l
Pin 1 = OV when amplifier is to output music. Otherwise, +24V.
l
Pins 2,4, 6, 8, and 10 = OV COMMON.
l
Pin 3 = +24V when Style Z (McCulloh) Relay on amplifier is being reset. Otherwise, OV.
l
Pin 5 = +2OV when backup amplifier is in use. Otherwise, +6V.
. Pin 7 = +24V when amplifier is in trouble. Otherwise, OV.
l
Pin 9 = Normally +24V. OV when SWITCH-TO-BATTERY signal is present.
P6 = 6-pin Audio Input Signal Connector. Connects via 733-578 harness to P9 of the Audio Controller Board, or
daisy-chains via 733-578 harness(es) to P6 on the backup amplifier (if applicable).
l
P6-1 and P6-4 = + Audio Input.
l
P6-2 and P6-5 = - Audio Input.
l
P6-3 and P6-6 = SHIELD.
P9 = 3-pin Audio Output Signal Connector. If a backup amplifier, connects via 733-579 harness to Connector P4
on the highest priority primary amplifier; if a primary amplifier, connects via 733-579 harness to Pins 1 thru 3
on the Signal Cards Audio Input Connector.
l
P9-1 = + Audio Output.
l
P9-2 = - Audio Output.
l
P9-3 = SHIELD.
