You may wish to change certain parameters based on the mount’s payload or to suit your personal preferences.
For example, lowering the maximum acceleratiohn and slew speed for heavier telescopes, or changing the slew
limit to prevent a longer telescope from hitting the side of the pier.
Axis-Related Parameter
Description
Unit Identifier
This number relates to the TCS version and cannot be changed.
Non-sidereal Rate
The non-sidereal rate, in arcseconds per second, is the rate added to or
subtraced from the sidereal tracking rate.
Although this rate can be configured manually, TheSky Professional can
perform this automatically. See the Set Track Rates button
documentation for details how to do this.
Guide Rate
When the Bisque TCS guiding lines are activated, the increase or decrease
in control system’s position occurs at this rate.
The general rule of thumb is that the fewer number of corrections to the
mount’s position that are made during autoguided exposures the better
the resulting star profile. So, a guide rate of fifty-percent of sidereal rate
(the default setting) is the optimal value to achieve this goal.
Maximum Speed (%)
The percentage of the mount's maximum slew speed.
Track Rate
The sidereal tracking rate in control system tracking units.
Min Position Limit
The Bisque TCS will not drive the motors beyond this minimum encoder
value (decelerating stop).
Max Position Limit
The Bisque TCS will not drive the motors beyond this maximum encoder
value (decelerating stop).
Joystick Center
The calibrated center position of the joystick.
