3. Double-check the direction of incoming light with the orientation of the three holes on the top of
the declination axis (Paramount MYT) or the machined arrow on the top of the declination axis
(Paramount ME and Paramount MX).
4. Rotate the OTA and/or Versa-Plate and remount them so that these three components are
properly aligned. If necessary, home the mount with no payload and no Versa-Plate attached,
then appropriately reattach both.
Versa-Plate Spacers (Paramount MYT and ME only, Optional Accessory)
Software Bisque offers optional spacers that can be used when the Paramount MYT or ME Versa-Plate is
mounted in the wide orientation. When mounted to the top of the declination axis, the spacers create a
channel through which instrument cabling can be passed. Spacers can also be used in the standard
position allowing more “clearance” for instrument cabling. To find this accessory on the Software Bisque
Store, in the Product Search field at www.bisque.com enter Spacer.
Large Dovetail Rail (Paramount ME only, Optional Accessory)
The Paramount ME can accept optical tube assemblies with a PlaneWave Instruments dovetail mounting
plate using the optional Large Dovetail Accessory Rails. Four rails and the rotating safety knob mount
directly to the existing Versa-Plate and offer six mounting knobs to securely attach and carry 20-inch class
optical tubes. The safety knob allows a heavy optical tube assembly to be mounted by placing one edge
of the male side of the dovetail into place, then rotating the telescope to meet the other side, rather than
having to slide the entire payload along the length of the dovetail. Once the OTA is in place, rotate the
safety knob to temporarily captivate the OTA and then proceed to tighten each Versa-Plate knob until the
OTA is secure.
