The WiSky module is a standard feature on the Paramount Series 6 mounts with the MKS
6000 control system.
Wireless mount control on earlier MKS 5000 telescope control systems required
installation of a separate Wi-Fi module called WiSky.
The MKS 6000 Wi-Fi interface can be configured to set up an ad hoc network access point, or to join an existing
infrastructure network.
• When configured as an ad hoc network, other Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect to WiSky’s private access
point. When configured as an ad hoc network, WiSky does not provide Internet access.
• When configured to join an infrastructure network, you must specify the network name (SSID) and pass
phrase.
The WiSky’s default network configuration is to set up an ad hoc access point, where the WiSky creates a hotspot
that Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect to. A Wi-Fi enabled desktop or laptop, or TheSky Fusion can connect to
this access point and wirelessly control the Paramount with TheSky Professional.
WiSky can also be configured as Inactive that prevents any wireless access.
Each network connection setup is described below. The WiSky can use one of five different profiles based on your
operating environment (permanent pier, portable, etc.).
