Step 32: Bleed air from hydraulics.
Step 33: Move arms to the rearmost position.
To bleed air from the lines and cylinders, start the truck and engage the PTO to activate
the hydraulic system.
Bleed Air from Gantry Cylinder:
1. Operate the gantry control handle to extend the cylinder until it bottoms out.
2. Operate the gantry control handle to retract the cylinder until it bottoms out.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the cylinder responds well to the controls.
Note: The gantry cylinder is not a rephasing cylinder. Do not hold valve handle open at
either end of the cylinder cycle.
Bleed Air from Arm Lift Cylinders:
1. With the AutoTarper arms resting on the gantry (arm cylinders fully retracted), hold the
Arm control handle down (Uncover-Rephase) for 5 seconds.
2. Repeat until the cylinder responds well to the controls.
Bleed Air from Slide Cylinders:
1. With the slides in the maximum back position (slide cylinders fully retracted), hold the
Slide control handle down (Back-Rephase) for 5 seconds.
2. Repeat until the cylinder responds well to the controls.
Operate the arms and place in the rearmost position as shown:
