Lithium Battery
Caution – On SPARCstation 20 system boards, there is a lithium battery molded
into the real-time clock, SGS No. MK48T18. Batteries are not customer replaceable
parts. They may explode if mistreated. Do not dispose of the battery in fire. Do not
disassemble it or attempt to recharge it.
Required Tools
You will need the following tools and equipment:
â– Antistatic mat
â– Wrist strap
â– Long needlenose pliers
â– Phillips screwdriver
â– Flat-blade screwdriver
â– SIMM installation tool
â– Conductive foam to store chips
â– DIP/IC extraction tool
â– Fan installation tool
â– Card extractor
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Precautions
Caution – The system chassis power must be set to standby, and the AC power cord
must remain plugged in to ensure a proper ground.
To minimize electrostatic discharge, observe the following precautions:
â– Hold the system board, SBus cards, MBus modules, SIMMs, or system
components only by the edges.
