BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT
Remove the front wheel. (!7-11)
Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts
1 and brake pad
mounting pins
2.
Remove the brake pads.
$
Install the new brake pads.
NOTE:
The shim must be installed to the caliper piston side pad.
Tighten the brake pad mounting pins
3 and brake caliper
mounting bolts
4 to the specified torque.
" Brake pad mounting pin: 18 N•m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 lb-ft)
Brake caliper mounting bolt:
26 N•m (2.6 kgf-m, 19.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:
After replacing the brake pads, pump the brake lever a few times
to check for proper brake operation and then check the brake
fluid level.
BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT
Place the vehicle on a level surface and keep the handlebar
straight.
Remove the master cylinder reservoir cap and diaphragm.
Suck up the old brake fluid as much as possible.
Fill the reservoir with new brake fluid.
) Specification and classification: DOT 4
* Do not operate the brake lever during or after brake
pad removal.
* Replace the brake pads as a set, otherwise braking
performance will be adversely affected.
