GEARSHIFT FORK
SHIFT FORK TO GROOVE CLEARANCE
Clearance for each gearshift fork plays an important role in the
smoothness and positiveness of the shifting process.
Measure the gearshift fork clearance in the groove of its respec-
tive gear with the thickness gauge.
If the clearance exceeds specification, replace the fork, its
respective gear, or both.
% Shift fork to groove clearance
Standard: 0.10  0.30 mm (0.004  0.012 in)
Service Limit: 0.50 mm (0.020 in)
& 09900-20803: Thickness gauge
09900-20101: Vernier calipers
% Shift fork groove width
Standard: 4.50  4.60 mm (0.177  0.181 in)
% Shift fork thickness
Standard: 4.30  4.40 mm (0.169  0.173 in)
GENERATOR COVER
DISASSEMBLY
 Remove the generator stator.
REASSEMBLY
 Install the generator stator.
 Tighten the generator stator bolts in the specified torque.
" Generator stator bolt: 7 N•m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.0 lb-ft)
