Removing the Battery from the Charger
•Desktop charger and 6-way charger:Liftthebattery/radiooutofthecharger.
•Battery-only vehicle charger:Pullupthetopclipofthevehiclecharger,andthenliftoutthebattery.
•Vehicle charger:Pressdownoncefirmlyonthereleasebaratthetopofthevehiclecharger,andthenliftout
theradio.
Abattery/radiocanberemovedfromthechargeratanytimewithoutharmingthebattery,theradio,orthecharger.
Whenthebattery/radioisreturnedtothecharger,chargingisautomaticallyresumed.Abattery/radiocanalsobeleft
inthechargeroncechargingiscomplete.
Maintaining Battery Life and Performance
Withpropercareandmaintenanceyouwillmaintaintheperformanceandlifeofthebattery.Itisrecommendedthat
you:
•UseonlyTaitchargersandbatteries.
•Donotexposeabatterytoveryhighorverylowtemperaturesforextendedperiodsoftime.Doingsowill
shortentheservicelifeofthebattery.
Veryhigh:above140°F(60°C)
Verylow:lessthan–4°F(–20°C)
•Chargethebatteryataroomtemperatureofbetween50°Fand77°F(between10°Cand25°C).This
temperaturerangeistheoptimalchargingrange.
•Wipeexcessmoistureanddirtfromtheradio,radiocontactsandbatterycontactsbeforechargingthebattery.
•Storebatteriesproperlywhennotinuse.SeeStoringBatteries.
Storing Batteries
Whennotinuseforamonthormore,batteriesshouldbestoredcorrectlytoprolongtheirlife.
•Removethebatteryfromtheradiobeforestorage.
•Fullychargethebatteryifstoringforlessthanonemonth.
•Chargebatteriestoabout30%ifstoringforlongerthanonemonth.
•Storeinacooldryplace.

Disposing of Batteries
Runthebatteryflatbeforedisposingofit.Whendisposingofthebattery,besuretodosoinanenvir-
