Appendix D: Battery Pack
Save Battery Life
When operated on the battery, this instrument conserves power by shutting itself
down. If you have not pressed a button for at least 30 minutes
,theinstrument
turns itself off automatically.
Automatic power shutdown will not occur if TrendPlot™ or Scope Roll Mode
is on, but the backlight will dim. Recording will continue even if the battery is
low, and retention of memories is not jeopardized.
To save battery life without automatic power shutdown you can use the display
AUTO-off option. The display will be turned off after the selected time
(30 seconds or 5 minutes).
NOTE. If the power adapter is connected, there is no automatic power shutdown,
and the display AUTO-off function is inactive.
Set the Instrumen t and
Display Auto-Off Timers
The default power shutdown time is 30 minutes. You can set the power shutdown
time to 5 minutes as follows:
1. Press the Utility button.
2. Select OPTIONS....
3. Select Battery Save Options....
4. Select 5 minutes for the Instrument Auto-OFF time.
