What To Do If The
Instrument Shuts Down
After a Short Time
The batteries may be empty. Check the battery symbol at the top right of
the screen. A
symbol indicates that the batteries are e mpty and must be
charged. Connect the power adapter.
The instrument is still on but the Display Auto-OFF timer is still active. To
turn the display on, press any key (this action restarts the Display Auto-Off
timer), or connect the power adapter. (See page 107.)
The Instrument Auto-OFF timer is active. Press the power button to turn
the instrument on. (See page 107.)
What To Do
If The Screen
Remains Black
Make sure that the instrument is on (press the power button).
You might have a problem with the screen contrast. Press the Utility button.
Now you can use the arrow keys to adjust the contrast.
The Display Auto-OFF timer is active. To turn the display on, press any
key (this action restarts the Display Auto-OFF timer), or connect the power
adapter. (See page 107.)
What To Do If The
Instrument Cannot Be
Turned Off
If the instrument cannot be turned off due to a software problem, do the following:
Press the power button f or at least 5 seconds.

Make sure that the instrument is turned on.
Make sure that the interface cable is properly connected between the
instrument and the PC. Only use the instrument mini-USB port for
co
mmunication with a computer.
