Trigger on nois
y waveforms. To reduce jitter on the screen when triggering on
noisy waveforms, you can use a trigger filter, as follows:
1. Press the Trig
ger button.
2. Select TRIGGER OPTIONS.
3. Select Trigger Conditions.
4. Select a trigger filter:
Noise Reject: an increased trigger gap will be applied
HF Reject: HF noise on the (internal) trigger signal will be suppressed
NOTE. You can also smooth noisy waveforms without changing bandwidth. (See
page 35, Smooth a Waveform With Averaging.)
Single shot trigger. To make a single shot measurement, do the following:
1. Press the Trigger button.
2. Select
TRIGGER OPTIONS.
3. Select Trigger Conditions.
4. Sel
ect Single Shot.ThewordSINGLE will appear in the top right portion of
the display screen indicating that the instrument is waiting for a trigger. As
soon as it receives a trigger, the waveform is displayed and the instrument is
set to stop. This is indicated by the word STOP in the top right portion of
the screen. (See Figure 33.)
5. Press the Single button to set the instrument to trigger again. The word RUN
will appear in the top right portion of the screen when the instrument is set
trigger again.
