IMPORTANT
Duringassembly,ensurethatthetransmissioncoverisinstalled
withfastenersproperlytorquedbeforeapplyingtensiontothe
transmissionbelt.
1.Installnewtransmissionbeltontothepulleysinthetransmission.Ensurethat
thebeltiscorrectlyroutedaroundthedriveandidlerpulleys(Figure44).
2.Ensurethatthewavewashers(item2inFigure43)arepressedintothe
bearingboresofthetransmissioncover.Also,ensurethatthe2dowelpins
arepressedintotheboresinthetransmissionhousing.
3.Positionanewgaskettothetransmissionassembly.Alignthegaskettothe2
dowelpinsinthetransmissionhousing.

A.First,useanalternatingcrossingpattern,torqueallthescrewsto1.7to
4.5N∙m(15to40in-lb).
B.Againuseanalternatingcrossingpattern,torqueallthescrewsto9.6to
10.7N∙m(85to95in-lb).
6.Rotatetheengage/disengageshaftcounterclockwisetoapplytensiontothe
transmissionbelt;refertoTransmissionBeltT ensioner(page4–5).
7.Slidethetelescopingcouplerontothetransmissionshaftsothatthe
driveshaftwireengagesthehexshaftonthetransmission.Ensurethatthe
telescopingcouplerisproperlyattachedtothecuttingunithexshaft.
8.Installthebatterypacktothemachine;refertoInstallingtheLithiumBattery
Pack(page5–77).
9.Connectthebatterypack;refertoConnectingtheLithiumBatteryPack
(page4–3).
