RemovingtheRadiator
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck(orimplement),
shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
DANGER
Iftheradiatororengineishot,pressurizedhotcoolantcanescape
andcauseburns.
Donotopentheradiatorcapordraintheradiatorwhenthecoolant
ishot.
WARNING
Ethylene-glycolantifreezeispoisonous.
Keepthecoolantawayfromchildrenandpets.
Keepthecoolantinalabelledcontainer.
Discardthecoolantinaccordancewithlocalhazardouswaste
ordinances.
3.Drainthecoolantfromtheradiatorasfollows:
A.Placeadrainpanbelowtheradiatorpipepluglocatedatthebottomof
theradiator.Ensurethatthedrainpanislargeenoughtoholdthecooling
systemcontents7.6L(8USqt).
B.Removethepipeplugandallowthecoolanttodrainfromradiator.
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingor
disposingenginecoolant.
4.Removetheradiatorscreen(item45inFigure25)fromthemachine;referto
theOperator’sManual.
5.Removetheaircleanerinlethosefromthetopoftheradiatorframe;refer
toAirCleanerSystem(page4–7).
6.Disconnecttheupperandlowerradiatorhoses(items22and23inFigure
25)fromtheradiator.
7.Loosenthehoseclampandremovethereservoirhose(item19inFigure25)
fromtheradiatorllopening.
8.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page5–77).
9.Cleanthehydraulictubeendsandoilcoolerttingstopreventhydraulic
systemcontamination.
10.Disconnectthehydraulictubesfromthe2straighthydraulicttings(item
8inFigure25).
11.Coverorplugthehydraulictubestopreventcontamination.
