IMPORTANT
Ensurethattheuidowindicatorarrowontheowmeteris
showingthattheuidwillowfromthepump,throughthetester,
andintothedisconnectedhydraulichose.
7.Installatesterwiththepressuregaugeandowmeterinseriesbetweenthe
tractionpumpttingandthedisconnectedhose.
8.Usethehydraulichosekittoconnecttestertothemachine;refertoSpecial
Tools(page4–31).Ensurethatthettingandhoseconnectionsareproperly
tightened.Also,ensurethattheowcontrolvalveontesterisfullyopen.
CAUTION
Duringthisprocedure,allthewheelswillbeoffthegroundand
rotating.Ensurethatthemachineiswellsupportedsoitwillnot
moveandaccidentallyfalltopreventinjuringanyonearoundthe
machine.
9.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed.Checkforhydraulic-uidleaks
fromthetestconnectionsandcorrectbeforecontinuingthetest.
10.Withtheenginerunning,presstheenginespeedswitchtofullspeed(3,005
to3,055rpm)position.UsetheInfoCentertocheckthattheenginespeedis
correct.
11.VerifythepumpowatNoLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition.
B.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsatnoload.Unrestricted
pumpoutputshouldbeapproximately106L/minute(28gallons/minute)
at6,900kPa(1,000psi).
12.VerifythepumpowUnderLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition,andkeepthe
pedalpressedintheforwardposition.
B.Applyanadditionalloadof6,900to10,340kPa(1,000to1,500psi)by
slowlyclosingtheowmeter.Theowmeterpressuregaugeshould
read13,800to17,500kPa(2,000to2,500psi).
C.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsunderload.
13.Verifythetractionreliefvalveoperationasfollows:
A.ReturnthetractionpedaltotheNEUTRALposition.
B.Fullyclosetheowmeterowcontrolvalve.
C.Slowlysetthetractionpedaltofullforwardposition.
D.Recordthetesterpressurereading.
Thesystempressureshouldreach26,200to26,545kPa(3,800to3,850
psi)beforethereliefvalveopens.
Note:Thereliefvalvesettingis25,000kPa(3,625psi).Anadditional
690to1,030kPa(100to200psi)isnecessarytoovercomesystem
chargepressurebeforethereliefvalveopens.
E.Releasethetractionpedal,opentheowcontrolvalvefully,pressthe
enginespeedswitchtolowspeed,andshutofftheengine.
