Note:Wheninitiallystartingthehydraulicsystemwithneworrebuiltcomponents
suchaspumps,wheelmotors,orliftcylinders,itisimportantthatthehydraulic
systemischargedproperly.Removetheairfromthesystemanditscomponents
toreducethechanceofdamage.
IMPORTANT
Changethehydraulic-uidlterswhenyourepairorreplacethe
hydrauliccomponents.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshutofftheengine.
2.Afterthehydraulicsystemcomponentshavebeenproperlyinstalledandif
thetractionpumpwasrebuiltorreplaced,ensurethatthetractionpump
housingisatleasthalffullofcleanhydraulicuid.
3.Ensurethatallofthehydraulicconnections,lines,andcomponentsare
securedtightly.
Note:Flushandllthehydraulicsystemandtankwheneverthereisa
severecomponentfailureorthesystemiscontaminated;refertoFlushing
theHydraulicSystem(page4–89).
4.Ensurethatthehydraulictankisfull.Addcorrectquantityofhydraulicuidif
necessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
5.Checkthecontrollinkageforproperadjustment,binding,ordamagedparts.
6.Primethehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page
4–88).
IMPORTANT
Beforeliftingthemachinewithajack,reviewandfollowJacking
Instructions(page1–6).
7.Liftandsupportthemachinewithjackstandssothatallthedrivewheels
areofftheground.
CAUTION
Ensurethatthemachineissafelysupportedsothatitdoesnotmove
oraccidentallyfallandpreventinjuringanyoneunderthemachine.
8.EnsurethatthetractionpedalisintheNEUTRALposition.Starttheengine
andrunitatlow-idlespeed(1,175to1,225rpm).
Note:Thehydraulicpumpsmustpickupthehydraulicuidandllthe
hydraulicsystem.Ifthereisnoindicationofllin30seconds,shutoffthe
engineandndthecause.
9.Afterthehydraulicsystemstartstoshowthesignsofll,actuateajoystick
switchesuntiltheliftcylinderrodmovesinandoutseveraltimes.
10.Iftheliftcylinderdoesnotmoveafter3to5secondsorifthepumpemits
abnormalsounds,shutofftheengineimmediately,andndthecauseor
problem.Inspectforthefollowing:
A.Theoillterorsuctionlinesthatareloose.
B.Anincorrecthoserouting.
