Thetractionneutralswitchisanormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloseswhen
thetractionpedalisintheNEUTRALposition.Theswitchmountstoapumpplate
onthetractionpump(Figure173).Thesensingplateforthetractionneutral
switchisthepumpleverthatissecuredtothetractionpump.
TheT oroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationofthetraction
neutralswitch.
TestingtheTractionNeutralSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnecttheneutralswitchfortesting,ensurethatyoutestthe
switchanditscircuitwiringasaTECelectricalinputwiththeInfoCenter
display;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page
5–26).
3.Iftheinputtestingveriesthattheneutralswitchandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurtherneutralswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.Iftheinputtestingdeterminesthattheneutralswitchandcircuitwiringare
notfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Locatethetractionneutralswitch(Figure173).
6.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)and
checktheLEDonthecableendoftheneutralswitch.TheLEDshouldbe
illuminatedwhenthetractionpedalisintheNEUTRALposition.
7.WiththekeyswitchstillintheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine),press
thetractionpedaloutoftheNEUTRALpositionandchecktheLEDonthe
cableendoftheneutralswitch.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhenthe
tractionpedalisnotintheNEUTRALposition.
8.IftheneutralswitchLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethattheneutralswitchisproperlyadjusted;refertoAdjusting
theTractionNeutralSwitch(page5–41).Ifnecessary,adjusttheswitch
andreturntostep6.
