ToroElectronicController(TEC)
TheGroundsmaster4300-DmachinesuseaT oroElectronicController(TEC)
tomanagethemachineelectricalfunctions.Thecontrollerisamicroprocessor
controlleddevicethatmonitorstheconditionofvariousswitches(inputs)and
thendirectselectricalpowertocontroltheappropriatemachinefunctions
(outputs)basedontheinputs.Thestatusofinputstothecontrolleraswellas
outputsfromthecontrollerscanbemonitoredwiththeInfoCenterdisplay.
TheTECislocatedbehindthecontrolarmaccesscovernexttothefuseblock.
IMPORTANT
Beforeperforminganyweldingonthemachine,dothefollowingto
preventdamagingtheelectricalsystemofthemachine:
Disconnectthebatterycablesfromthebattery.
DisconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheT oroElectronicController.
DisconnectthewireharnessconnectorsfromtheengineECU.
Disconnecttheterminalconnectorfromthealternator.
CAN-busCommunications
TheTEC,YanmarengineECU,andInfoCenterdisplayusedonthe
Groundsmaster4300-DmachinescommunicatewitheachotheronaCAN-bus
system.Thissystemallowsthetractionunittofullyintegrateallthedifferent
electricalcomponentsofthemachineandbringthemtogetherasone.The
CAN-bussystemreducesthenumberofelectricalcomponentsandconnections
thatareusedonthemachineandallowsthenumberofwiresinthewireharness
tobesignicantlyreduced.Theintegrationoftheelectricalfunctionsalsoallows
theInfoCenterdisplaytoassistwiththeelectricalsystemdiagnostics.
TheCANidentiesthecontrollerareanetworkthatisusedonthemachine.
The2speciallydesigned,twistedcablesformthebus.Thesewiresprovidethe
datapathwaysbetweentheTEC,YanmarengineECU,andInfoCenterdisplay
usedonthemachine.TheengineeringtermforthesecablesaretheCANHigh
andCANLow.Attheendsofthetwistedpairofbuscablesarethe120-ohm
terminatorresistors.
TheCAN-buslinkcontrolseachofthecomponentsthatrequiresonly4wires
tooperateandcommunicatetothesystem:CANHigh,CANLow,B+(power),
andground.
IMPORTANT
Theterminatorresistorsattheendsofthebuscablesarerequired
forproperelectricalsystemoperation.
