1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparkingbrake,lowerthecutting
decks,andshutofftheengine.Removethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page4–87).
3.Cleanthetractionandgearpumpassemblyandallhydraulicconnectionsto
preventhydraulicsystemcontamination.
4.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulicconnections.
5.Disconnectthehosesandtubesfromthettingsonthetractionandgear
pumpassembly.Allowthehydrauliclinestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
6.Installcleancapsorplugsontheopeningsofpumpsanddisconnectedlines
topreventcontamination.
7.Removethehydraulicpumpdriveshaft;refertoRemovingtheHydraulic
PumpDriveshaft(page4–98).
8.Separatethetractioncableassemblyfromthetractionpump(Figure86)as
follows:
A.Removetheangenut(item7inFigure86)thatsecuresthelever
dampertothetractioncablebracket.
B.Removethebolt(item5inFigure86),atwashers,andlocknutthat
securethetractioncabletothepumplever.
C.Loosenthe2jamnutsthatsecurethetractioncabletothetractioncable
bracket.
D.Positionthetractioncableassemblyawayfromthepumpassembly.
9.Disconnectthewireharnesselectricalconnectorfromthetractionneutral
switch.
CAUTION
Theweightofthepumpassemblyisapproximately30.5kg(67lb).
Ensurethattheliftorhoistcansupportthetotalweightofthepump
assemblybeforeremovingtheboltsfromthepumpassemblyand
frame.
10.Connectaliftorhoisttotheholeinthetractioncablebracketonthetraction
pumptosupportthepumpassemblyandforpumpremoval.
11.Loosenandremovethe2carriagescrews(item22inFigure84)and2ange
nutsthatsecurethepumpsupportbrackettotheframe.
12.Removethe2ange-headscrews(item38inFigure84)and2angenuts
thatsecurethetractionpumpangetothemachineframe.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethemachinecomponentswhile
removingthepumpassembly.
13.Carefullyliftthepumpassemblyfromthemachine.
