8.Cleanalltheparts.Checkallthecomponentsforburrs,scoring,nicks,and
otherdamage.
9.Replacetheentirepumpassemblyifthepartsareexcessivelywornor
scored.
AssemblingtheGearPump
1.Applycleanhydraulicuidtoallthepartsbeforeyouassemblethem.
Note:Thepressuresealsandback-upringstinthegroovesmachined
intothethrustplates.Thebodysealstinthegroovesmachinedinthe
bodyfaces.
2.Assemblethepumpsectionsstartingatthefrontcoverend.Applygrease
orpetroleumjellytonewsectionsealstoholdtheminpositionduringthe
gearpumpassembly.
3.Afterthepumphasbeenassembled,tightentheboltsandnutsbyhand.
Rotatethedriveshafttocheckforbinding.Protecttheshaftifyouusepliers.
4.Torquetheboltsandnutsevenlyto45N∙m(33ft-lb)inacrossingpattern.
