InstallingtheSteeringControlValve
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthesteeringcontrolvalve,lubricate
newO-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positiontheO-ringstothettings,
andinstallthettingstothesteeringcontrolvalve;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittingintotheComponent
Port)(page4–11).
2.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothesplinesofthesteeringcontrolvalveinput
shaft.
3.Slidethesteeringcontrolvalveinputshaftintothesteeringcolumn
universaljoint.Positionthecontrolvalvewiththeportstowardfrontofthe
machine.Securethesteeringcontrolvalvetothesteeringcolumnwiththe4
socket-headscrews.Torquethesocket-headscrewsto9.5to13.5N∙m(84
to120in-lb)inacriss-crosspattern.
4.Positionthesteeringcolumnassemblytothemachine.Securethesteering
columninplacewiththe2socket-headscrewsand2angenutsatrear
twomountingholes.
5.Removethecapsandplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydrauliclinesand
ttingsduringtheremovalprocess.
6.LubricatenewO-ringsandusethelabelsthatyouattachedduringvalve
removaltoconnectthehydrauliclinestothettingsonthesteeringcontrol
valve.Tightentheconnections;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHoseand
Tube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page4–9).
7.Positionthesteeringcolumnbrace(item12inFigure115)tothemachine
andsecurewiththe4screwsand4angenuts.
8.Slidetherubberbellowstothebottomofthesteeringcolumn.
9.Placetherubberbushingsandspacersintotheholesoftheshroud(Figure
116).Positiontheshroudinplaceandsecurewiththeremovedfasteners.
10.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
11.Operatethemachinefunctionsslowlyuntilairisoutofsystem;referto
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page4–94).
