7.WiththekeyswitchstillintheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine),setthe
parkingbrakeandchecktheLEDonthecableendoftheparkingbrake
switch.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhentheparkingbrakeisset.
8.IftheparkingbrakeswitchLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethattheparkingbrakeswitchisproperlyadjusted;referto
AdjustingtheParkingBrakeSwitch(page5–43).Ifnecessary,adjustthe
switchandreturntostep6.
B.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionanddisconnectthe
parkingbrakeswitchconnectorfromtheplatformwireharness.
C.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting),checkthattheplatformwireharness
connectorterminalforblackwireisclosed(continuity)totheground.
D.TurnkeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)andcheck
withamultimeterthattheplatformwireharnessconnectorterminalfor
pinkwirehassystemvoltage(12VDC)present.
E.Iftheblackwireisclosedtotheground,thepinkwirehassystemvoltage
present,andtheswitchLEDdidnotfunction,replacetheparkingbrake
switch.Adjusttheswitchafterinstallation;refertoAdjustingtheParking
BrakeSwitch(page5–43).
9.Iftheparkingbrakeswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,
checktheplatformwireharness;refertotheElectricalSchematicandWire
HarnessDrawings/DiagramsinAppendixA(pageA–1).
10.Afteryoucompletetheparkingbrakeswitchtesting,ensurethattheswitch
connectorispluggedintoplatformwireharness.
