Thehydraulicpressuretransducerisinstalledontheforwardtractionhydraulic
tubelocatedinbetweenthefrontwheels(Figure192).Thetransducersensesthe
counterbalancepressurebetweenthehydraulicmotorsandthehydraulicpump.
TheTECmonitorsthecounterbalancepressurerangeusinginputsfromthe
pressuretransducerandcontrolstheenergizingofthehydraulicsolenoidvalves
usedtodrivethecuttingdeckmotors.
TestingthePressureTransducer
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutofftheengine,andsettheparking
brake.
2.Disconnectthemachinewireharnessfromthepressuretransducer.
3.Testthemachinewireharnesstothepressuretransducer:
A.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONposition.
B.T osimulateafunctioningpressuretransducer,connecta1.5Vdrycell
batteryacrossthesignal(+)pinCandground(-)pinBofthemachinewire
harnessconnector(Figure193A).Afullychargedbatteryshouldproduce
approximatelyan550kPa(80psi)readingontheInfoCenterdisplay.
C.UseamultimetersettoDCvoltageandcheckfor5VDCacrossthe
supply(+)pinAandground(-)pinBofthemachinewireharness(Figure
193B).
D.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.
4.Testthepressuretransducerasfollows:
A.Connecta5VDCpowersupplytothesupply(+)pinAandground(-)pin
Bofthesensorconnector(Figure193B).
B.ConnectamultimetersettoDCvoltagetothesignal(+)pinCand
ground(-)pinBofthesensorconnector(Figure193C).Asmallamount
ofvoltageshouldbepresent0.5VDConthemultimeterdisplay.
5.Replacethepressuretransducerifnecessary.Applythreadsealanttothe
threadsofthetransducerpriortoinstallation.
6.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectthewireharnesstothepressure
transducer.
