2.Checkthebatteryconditionweeklyorafterevery50hoursofoperation.
Keeptheterminalsandentirebatterycasecleanbecauseadirtybattery
willdischargeslowly.
A.Cleanthebatterybywashingentirecasewithasolutionofbakingsoda
andwater.Flushthebatterycasewithclearwater.
B.Coatthebatterypostsandcableconnectorswiththebatteryterminal
protector(refertoT erminalProtector(page5–5))orpetroleumjellyto
preventcorrosion.
3.Tightenthebatterycablesonthebatteryterminalstoprovideagood
electricalcontact.

Connectingthecablestothewrongbatterypostcouldresultin
personalinjuryand/ordamagetotheelectricalsystem.
Ensurethatthecablesareproperlyconnectedtothecorrectbattery
postsbeforeoperatingthemachine.
4.Ifcorrosionoccursatthebatteryterminals,disconnectthecables.Always
disconnectthenegative(-)cablerst.Cleanthecableclampsandterminals
separately.Connectthecableswiththepositive(+)cablerst.Applyalayer
ofterminalprotector(ToroPartNo.107-0392)oralightcoatofpetroleum
jellytotheterminalstoreducecorrosionafteryoumaketheconnections.
5.Checkthebattery-electrolytelevelevery25operatinghoursandevery30
daysifmachineisinstorage.
6.Maintainthecelllevelwiththedistilledordemineralizedwater.
