DisassemblingtheBladeSpindle
1.Removethebladespindlefromthecuttingdeck;refertoRemovingtheBlade
Spindle(page7–8).
2.Loosenandremovethespindlenutfromthetopofthespindleshaft.
3.Useanarborpresstoremovethespindleshaftfromthespindlehousing.
Note:Ensurethatthespindleshaftspacerremainsonthespindleshaft
whileremovingtheshaft.
4.Carefullyremovetheoilsealsfromthespindlehousing,notethedirection
oftheseallips.
5.Allowthebearingcones,innerbearingspacer,andspacerringtodropoutof
thespindlehousing.
6.Useanarborpresstoremovethe2bearingcupsandouterbearingspacer
fromthehousing.
Note:Thelargesnapringcanremaininsidethespindlehousing.Removing
thelargesnapringisverydifcult.

Note:Areplacementspindlebearingsetcontains2bearings,aspacerring,
andalargesnapring(items1,2,and3inFigure231).Youcannotpurchase
thesepartsseparately.Also,donotmixthebearingsetcomponentsfromone
deckspindletotheanother.
Note:Areplacementbearingspacersetincludestheinnerspacerandouter
spacer(items4and5inFigure231).Donotmixthebearingspacersfromone
deckspindletotheanother.
IMPORTANT
Ifnewbearingsinstalledintoausedspindlehousing,itisnot
necessarytoreplacetheoriginallargesnapring.Iftheoriginallarge
snapringisingoodconditionwithnosignofdamage(e.g.,spun
bearing),leavethesnapringinthehousinganddiscardthelarge
snapringthatcomeswiththenewbearings.Ifthelargesnapringis
damaged,replacethesnapring.
1.Ifthelargesnapringwasremovedfromthespindlehousing,installthesnap
ringintothehousinggroove.
Note:Ensurethatthesnapringisfullyseatedinthehousinggroove.
2.Installtheouterbearingspacerintotopofthespindlehousing.
Note:Ensurethattheouterbearingspacertsagainstthelargesnapring.
