Theengineisequippedwithanexhaustsystemthatincludesadieseloxidation
catalyst(DOC)andadiesel-particulatelter(DPF).
Theseexhaustcomponentsrequireserviceorcomponentreplacementatregular
intervals;refertotheOperator’sManual.Additionally,theexhaustassembly
uses2temperaturesensorsandapressuredifferentialsensor,whichareused
asinputsfortheengineECUtomonitortheoperationoftheexhaustsystem.
Thediesel-particulatelter(DPF)iscleanedperiodicallythrougharegenerative
processthatiscontrolledbytheengineECU;refertoYanmarEngine(page
3–5).TheInfoCenterdisplaywillidentifythestatusofDPFregeneration.At
recommendedintervals,DPFreconditioningisnecessarywhichwillrequire
exhaustsystemdisassembly.DPFreconditioningshouldbedonebyacompany
thathasthenecessaryequipment.OncetheDPFhasgonethroughthe
reconditioningprocess,itcanbere-installedintheexhaustsystem.Contactyour
ToroDistributorforinformationonreconditioningtheDPF .
Thedieseloxidationcatalyst(DOC)hasaservicelifeexpectancyandrequires
replacementatrecommendedintervals.ReplacementoftheDOCwillrequire
exhaustsystemdisassembly,removaloftheexistingDOCandinstallation
ofthenewDOC.

RemovingtheExhaustSystem
CAUTION
Ahotengineandexhaustsystemcancauseburns.
Allowtheengineandtheexhaustsystemtocoolbeforeworking
onornearthem.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
3.RemovetheexhausttubeasshowninFigure11.
Note:TheexhaustsystemDPFandDOCcanberemovedfromtheexhaust
systemwithoutremovingtheentireexhaustsystemfromtheengine.Referto
theYanmarEngineServiceManualforcompletedisassemblyandassembly
procedures.
InstallingtheExhaustSystem
1.Installtheexhausttubeasfollows:
A.Installallthefastenersngertight.
B.Tightentheangenuts(item5inFigure11).
C.Tightentheexhaustclamp(item8inFigure11).
D.Tightenthemuferclamp(item4inFigure11).
2.Lowerthehoodandsecureitwiththelatches.
