DrainandcleanthefueltankperiodicallyasrecommendedintheOperator’s
Manual.Also,drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifthemachineistobestoredforanextendedperiod.
Tocleanfueltank,ushtankoutwithcleandieselfuel.Makesuretankisfree
ofcontaminatesanddebris.
CheckFuelLinesandConnections
CheckfuellinesandconnectionsperiodicallyasrecommendedintheOperator’s
Manual.Checklinesfordeterioration,damage,leaksorlooseconnections.
Replacehoses,clampsandconnectionsasnecessary.
PrimetheFuelSystem
Thefuelsystemneedstobeprimedbeforestartingtheengineforthersttime,
afterrunningoutoffuelorafterfuelsystemmaintenance(e.g.drainingthe
lter/waterseparator,replacingafuelhose).T oprimethefuelsystem,makesure
thatthefueltankhasfuelinit.Then,turntheignitionkeytotheONpositionfor
10to15secondswhichallowsthefuelpumptoprimethefuelsystem.DONOT
usetheenginestartermotortocranktheengineinordertoprimethefuelsystem.
FuelTankRemoval
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengineand
removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethefrontleftwheelfromthemachine(seeWheels(page7–3)).
3.Useafueltransferpumptoremovefuelfromthefueltankandintoasuitable
container.
4.UsingFigure19asaguide,removethree(3)socketheadscrewsthatsecure
ttingcover(item2)tofueltank.Removettingcover.
5.Disconnectthefuelsenderfromthemachinewireharness.
