Injection Pump Disassembly
IMPORTANT: Do not mix the delivery valves, deliv-
ery valve seats, p
lungers or plunger barrels from
one cylinder to another. These are parts are
“matched sets”. Handle these parts carefully. Place
the parts in a container of clean diesel fuel to pre-
vent corrosion.
1. Remove the stopper holder. Remove the d
elivery
valve holder (Fig. 46).
2. Remove the valve spring, delivery valve and o-ring.
Remove the gasket and valve seat.
3. Remove the tappet roller and stopper pin. Remove
the tappet and adjusting shim.
4. Remove the lower seat from the plunger. Remove the
plunger spring and upper seat
5. Remove the two screws securing the bracket to the
pump housing. Remove the control rack.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT loosen the adjusting screws
on the control rack for each cylinder. If these parts
are removed, it is necessary to measure fuel injec-
tion quantity with a pump tester and cam box.
7. Remove the sleeve and plunger. Remove the plunger
bar
rel upward from the pump housing.
