2.4 System Board Troubleshooting 2 Troubleshooting Procedures
Procedure 2 Serial Port Check or Debugging Port Check (Boot Mode) Rev D
Check the D port status by a serial port test . The tool for serial port test is shown below.
Serial Port model (W3401 short) Not a Serial Port model

The test procedures are follows:
1. Serial Port model should make "W3401" of Swich board is made to short-circuit with
a wire. As for theposition of W3401 is refer to Appendix B.
2. Connect the RS-232C cross-cable to the connector CN9601 of the system board..
3. Not a Serial Port model should connect a debug port test cable to connector CN3490
of a system board.(W3401 open)
4. Connect the RS-232C Cross-cable to the PC that displays the test results.
5. Boot the compute1r in DOS mode.
