Mux Output
Mux Output is a BNC connector compatible with TSI’s remote and
multiplexer processors. The signal transmitted through the
output—one for each detected particle—is a 13-volt, 6.4-
microsecond square pulse. The output is valid only for
concentrations less than 350 particles per cm

[10 million/ft

].
Pulse Output
Pulse Output is a BNC connector that transmits a 12-volt square
pulse, one for each detected particle. The width of the pulse
depends on the shape of the photodetector pulse and on the trigger-
level of the pulse threshold. A typical width is 3.3 microseconds.
Liquid Supply
Liquid Supply is a quick-disconnect, shut-off connection. Use it
with the liquid fill bottle in the mounting bracket just above the
connector.
Makeup Air
The Makeup Air inlet uses a ¼-inch nylon Swagelok connector.
Makeup air is used in the low-flow mode to increase the pump
speed and stabilize the flow through the sensor. The air is filtered
in the CPC before it enters the pump. If the inlet is sampling from a
slight vacuum, the makeup air may need to be restricted to force
more air to enter through the inlet (see “Inlet Pressure” below).
Pump Exhaust
Pump Exhaust uses a ¼-inch nylon Swagelok connector to vent the
pump exhaust. If you are sampling from a slightly pressurized
system or from a vacuum system, equalize the pressure across the
CPC by connecting the pump exhaust to the system downstream of
the sampling port (see “Inlet Pressure” below).
