FM RULES FOR PREACTION/DELUGE SYSTEMS

applications which require Factory Mutual (FM) approved Pre-Action and/or
Deluge Systems must conform to the following guidelines:
• Detection Zone 1 (Det1), Detection Zone 2 (Det2) and Waterflow (W'Flow) Initiating Circuits must
be configured for CLASS-A, Style D wiring.
• The Battery backup system must provide for 90 hours of Standby operation followed by 10
minutes of Alarm operation. Refer to Appendix A for calculations.
• The Agent Release Output must be configured for Deluge Solenoid activation. The Solenoid
Activation Time must be set either for:
–10 minutes, or
–15 minutes, or
– On-until-reset.
The wiring connection of the control unit to the Deluge Solenoids must be as detailed in the
Installation section of this Manual.
