5.
Before putting the instrument into operation
Avoid the contact of sharp objects with the sensitive area of the detectors. The
aluminized light-tight foil can be damaged through the protective grid of the detectors,
with possible damage to the photomultiplier.
When handling the instrument, follow general safety regulations related to such
activities.
Pay special attention to the handling of heavy equipment.
Do not expose the instrument to mechanical shocks and vibrations to which especially
the PMTs used in the detectors are sensitive.
The instrument is transported in assembled state.
During transport, secure the instrument against movement and damage
Only use the frame to handle the instrument.
In addition, handling of the whole equipment should be carried out in such a way so as to ensure
that the connectors installed at the back of the base are not mechanically damaged.
Unpack the delivered equipment as described in Annex G; pack the equipment before transportation to
another place as described in Annex H.
5.2. Initial preparation
Remove the instrument from the transportation package.
Check the shipment for completeness, according to (Chapter 10.1).
Check all the delivered parts, including the control unit, display, indicator lamps, and connectors,
for mechanical damage.
If you find any defects during the initial preparation, provide for their repair before the
instrument is connected to a power supply.
The instrument is supplied with mains voltage 230 V AC / 50 Hz. The source used
enables a power supply in the voltage range (100 ÷ 240) V, (45 ÷ 65) Hz.
The instrument does not contain a backup battery.
