The bit mask consists of eight binary digits - bits - which can have values (0 or 1). Each bit means a prescribed condition. Bits are
read from the right to the left (from the lowest to the highest one) and they are marked from 0 to 7 – for example 00000011, where bit
0 has the value of 1, bit 1 has the value of 1, bits 2 to 7 have the value of 0. The whole eight-bit recording is transferred from the
binary system to the hexadecimal system, namely 00000011 is written as 0x03. 0x is a prefix specifying a recording in the hexadecimal
system.
