6.4.1 Contamination detection by frisker
The Smart Frisking Probe (Fig. 25) is an optional accessory. If it is connected to the instrument, it
enables the detection of any possible contamination, mainly on other parts of the body or on
clothing and working equipment.

The instrument is ready for measurement if the basic screen is shown on the monitor and if the
green indicator is lit (Chapter 6.3).
Take the frisker placed on the supporting pillar of the instrument. This activates the position sensor
and the instrument goes to the frisker measurement mode. During the measurement, move the
frisker slowly over the measured surface, as required.
The detected surface activity is shown on the display of the instrument (Fig. 26 and Fig. 27)
For various customized versions, the appearance of the chart and the displayed data can differ from information shown in the figures
herein. The meanings of the values displayed are: bg – background, max – maximum pulse count in a single measurement, al – alarm
value, <number> cps – current pulse count.
The displayed scale can be in percentage, logarithmic or combination.
