Equipment and Installation
2. Plug the lens meter into an electric outlet.
3. Connect the supplied WiFi dongle to the USB port on the lens meter.
4. Turn the lens meter on.
3. 4 Working with the Unit
Once the system is set up, you can turn the EyeRefract unit on and begin using the system to
test patients' vision and prescribe corrective lenses for them.
Turning the Unit On or Off
To turn the unit on:
Press the Power switch (#10 in the illustration above).
To turn the unit off:
In the tablet application, in the main menu, select Turn Off.
Select to confirm the shutdown. Both the machine and the tablet app shut down.
Note: It is also possible to shut the machine down by pressing the Power switch (#10 in the
illustration above). However, whenever possible, it is recommended to use the app to shut it
down.
Important!
Always turn the unit off before moving it. When you turn off the unit, the heads move back to
their default positions. The unit should not be moved when its heads are not in their default
positions.
Preparing to Run a Diagnostic
Before you begin running a diagnostic, do the following:
Place a new sheet of protective paper over the chin rest, or clean the chin rest.
Load the patient's existing prescription either by importing it from the lens meter
connected to your system, or by manually entering it; see Exam File screen.
