4. 5 Measure Screen
The Measure screen is used to set up, initiate, and follow the progress of an automated
wavefront analysis. The results of this diagnostic exam provide an initial estimate of the
patient's refraction.
In Quick Pro mode, the Measure screen opens automatically after step 1. In manual mode,
you can open it and initiate the measurement process as required.
The measurement process consists of four stages: centering, focusing, first measurement,
and second measurement. While the measurement process is underway, the chart displays a
road with a balloon.Instruct the patient to look at this balloon throughout the measurement.
When all four of the measurement stages are completed, the results are saved in the data set
called WF Ref, and the Refraction screen automatically opens, with the results displayed in it.

Before a Diagnostic
When the Measure screen is open, and a patient is in position in front of the EyeRefract
machine, you can see the camera views in the screen. You may or may not see the patient's
eyes, and, if you do, they may or may not be centered in the camera views. Before you begin
the diagnostic, adjust the positions of the chin rest and heads as necessary so that the
patient's eyes are visible in the camera views. It is not normally necessary to make sure the
eyes are centered in the camera view; when you initiate the diagnostic, the system should take
care of that.
