1 About This Guide
1.1 Welcome
Congratulations on choosing the NSH-5509 Managed 8-port 10/100Base-TX + 1-port
100-FX Access Switch. This device integrates 100Mbps Fast Ethernet and 10Mbps
Ethernet switching technologies with versatile management capabilities in a highly
flexible package. The device provides various management interfaces – including Web,
serial Console, Telnet, and Command Line (CLI).
1.2 Purpose
This guide discusses how to install and configure your Managed Access Switch.
1.3 Terms/Usage
In this guide, the term “Switch” (first letter upper case) refers to the NSH-5509 Switch,
and “switch” (first letter lower case) refers to other switches.
